Rental car from advantage in Charlotte North Carolina the SUV I rented was black the parking lots my dark in the daylight the car had scratches and small dents all over almost 60,000 miles and the windows and exterior what are filthy. The key fob was crusty and the windshield had a small ding. I was also not verbally advised that returning the car empty would be at a cost of $9 a gallon on a 16 gallon tank. Enterprise was also a similar experience. Budget Rental has been by far the best. Shocked

Horrible Customer Service and No Vehicle for Reservations Made a Week in Advance

The price might be attractive, but I promise it is definitely NOT worth it. Booked through Priceline. Arrived at the same time a couple was dropping off a vehicle. They ran our card and handed us the keys, when looking for the vehicle, noticed that it had been recently dropped off as there was a lady going through they vehicle, she mentioned "you do not want this car... the transmission is not working!" So, we walked back in and asked for a different vehicle because the current one is defective. Jean's answer (employee at 72 North 2400 West Salt Lake City UT 84116 location) was "I have to process everyone behind you in the line first and then I will see if there are any vehicles left," and he also said "there was nothing he could do to fix the situation." They ran our card for the deposit and showed no effort in trying to refund us. We left the keys at the counter and walked out. Took the shuttle back to the airport and got a very nice (2018 Subaru) rental within minutes. We called Advantage only to be told their system is down and to call back in an hour, to "see what they could do." Customer service from the get-go was non-existent. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. We would rather pay the difference of $10-$20 than to deal with a company like this. The Better Business Burea will by hearing about our experience.

On the night of 12/22 I reserved a full-size car to pick up at Advantage rentals at Hartsfield Airport in ATL on 12/23 at 7am. My plane arrived at 6:30. Caught the shuttle to the rental car place and there was a sign saying “Go to Level 1” (pick-up) for assistance. Went to level 1 and the chicks there told me go to Level 2 and see an attendant at “EZ Rental”. Went to EX rental who said they were closed til 8! Why I had to go to a completely different company I don’t know! Why they were closed til 8am at a 24hr location- I DONT KNOW! So after looking for other rental cars- during the holidays - a young lady arrived to Advantage 7:23am and assisted us. So we get to the pick up area AGAIN! They’re attempting to put us in the wrong car. After a little back and forth we pulled out our emailed reservations and they finally realized THEY HAD THE WRONG PERSON PULLED UP! Omg! So we finally get our car and the screen is out on the radio and the rear view camera won’t come on. So they make us wait another 15 mins for another vehicle. It’s 8:48am

I hate the Atlanta airport and would believe just about any crummy thing I heard had happened there regardless of whose department, kiosk, job, or related business was involved.

I have filed a complaint on Advantage Rent A Car on their website and with BBB. The manager at the Sky Harbor location refused to give me a general managers contact info to file a complaint or correct our reservation that day. We arrived to pick up our vehicle (Chevy Suburban) that we reserved on Oct 18th through Oct 22nd and they would not give us the vehicle. We drove 45 minutes to the airport for this specific vehicle. So last minute we were without a vehicle for our trip with family in town putting us in a big bind. They said because we lived in Arizona we could not rent a Chevy Suburban from them that we had to live out of town. They had our vehicle there but would not rent it to us even though they made the mistake by allowing us to reserve this specific vehicle with our in town address. We paid and reserved this vehicle 1 month in advance!!! It took us driving around town for 2 hours to find another Chevy Suburban available to rent and we ended up having to pay double the cost due to the last minute rental. So wrong on all levels that they did this. We had to have this size vehicle to accommodate all our passengers and luggage for our 4 hour road trip out of town. No other vehicle would work. This made absolutely no sense and the manager there was rude and didn't care about what they just did to us even though I was in tears. I will NEVER rent from Advantage rent a car again if this is how they treat people. Heartless. I am beyond disappointed and what this did to our trip and the financial burden it caused. If they have restrictions like this then they should not allow someone to reserve the vehicle then on the day we are to pick it up tell us no. They should be paying attention to their reservations. I even spoke with an Advantage rent a car rep the week before the pickup on 10/10 to confirm the Suburban reservation since this was imperative we had this size vehicle and I also put a request for the 2nd row captain chairs if possible due to my Mom’s disability, the rep said she would note the account but could not promise that as most of the stock was the bench and I said that was ok but she confirmed the Suburban rental with me even at that time. At that time she could have said there was a problem and we couldn't rent that specific vehicle just because we lived in Arizona which makes NO sense to me but it would of given us time to figure something else out. Poor customer service all around and just disheartening that they would do this to a family standing in front of them excited about their family vacation and denying them. How can they do business this way!

I returned my car on full according to the meter on the dashboard. The return agent says they have to charge me for more fuel because their new device shows Im lacking fuel. The customer has no way to confirm this device. RIP OFF!!

Poor business practices

Rental Record #: ATL-250400 I made my reservations through the SW Airlines site in conjunction with my flight. The reservation for the one day rental came out to $35. Upon arrival at the Advantage counter I told the lady I just talked to my insurance (USAA) and that I was covered for the rental. she pulled up my reservation and raced me through the process. I initialed once and she reached up and scrolled through to CC key pad and told me to hit the Ok button. she then scrolled through the (I'm guessing) fine print and told me to sign. She them told me I had a $265 deposit and nothing about the final bill. she folded the paper in thirds and told me to walk out the double doors and down. If any of you have been to Atlanta Heartsfield and the rental area it is pretty damn big. So after 15 minutes of walking around and asking the Hertz people I finally found Advantage. Walking up the small office I notice half a dozen people standing around in the rain and 40deg weather. The lady in the box took may papers and said they were waiting on clean cars. So cars trickle in one at a time. The lady inside is on her phone and doesn't really care. No *** 40 minutes later I walk back up to the window and ask if I had been forgotten. she said no, I called your name out and you didn't answer so I gave it to the next person standing close to the window. WTF Lady do you think I drove off in another vehicle??? I did finally get a vehicle. I return the vehicle that night (day trip) and the line to return the vehicle was 10 cars deep. So super slow. The lady checks me in and I see the additional Collision Damage Waiver of $26. I told the lady I did not authorize the charge. she said to go back up stairs and tell the desk. Of course I do and guess what I get told. "you need to call the 800 number and give them your rental record #. Well *** I can see where this is going. I call today (11/13/18) and of course I get the run-a-round. the first guy hangs up on me (I want to say Patrick was his name) I call back and talk to David. He said that since the transaction had been closed I could never get my $$ back and that no one at Advantage would help me. *** Too! Lessons learned: 1. counter help is not always there to help you. 2. I think the Advantage call center in based in India....3. They don't give a *** about you. 4. look at your paperwork!!!! 5. Never do business with Advantage again. They take Advantage of you!

We rented a car a the Denver airport from advantage 11-06-2018 for 12 days they charged $190 for the the rental and $285 for extra driver and fees and taxs this is what Cheepo air calls a bundle!!! WHAT?

I will not ever use Cheepo air or advantage again.

CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID TOO BAD

Nobody charges for a extra driver NOTHING WE COULD DO THIS IS A SCAM

WAIT 2+ hrs at Denver Airport

*** experience at Denver Airport. Rented on 9/15 - Saturday and had to wait 2.5 hrs in the line.. Returned at same airport on 9/22 and again saw ppl in similarly long line. The staff doesnt seem to care if there is long line.. apparently its a routine for them.. so they take their sweet time inspite of the lines.. they either need to get more staff to handle the long queue or automate the rental process or decline to take online bookings beyond what they can handle... I have not see such long line anywhere ever before... Also charges for spouse as co-driver which no other rental has ever charged. *** experience at Denver Airport. Long Long wait for prerented car that was rented out to other

My wife and I pre booked a economy car. The line was very long when at counter manager told us that since we did not pick up car at 12 noon he rented it out and the only vehicle available was a big Nissan SUV that cost 200 hundred more for the 5 days we were in Honolulu. this company was paid for the car that day regardless of the time we picked it up! Have researched this Advantage outlet some , this manager is a shady dude probably scams 2 to 3 customers a day!

Advantage Rent A Car - WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY EVER, ROBBERS!
I rented this car at the Salt Lake City Airport. The WORST part, I was rushing to the airport and forgot to fill up the tank with gas and they charged be $9+/gallon to fill up the tank. The tank was only half empty and they charged my $73 to fill it up the tank. If this isnt the definition of robbery, I don't know what is, this should be illegal! On top of that the customer service agents rude and rushing me when going to get the car but the 'shuttle' which is supposed to run every 15 min took 45 min before it showed up and made me late.

MISSING ITEMS FROM RENTAL

The rental car I had was towed directly to the Las Vegas Airport location there were very important items in the vehicle including a huge child car seat which I was told was not in the truck. I have very important item in the car and would like to know where they are. I contacted lost and found and they said the report on file says there was nothing in the car. I would greatly appreciate if someone could do research and help me retain very important items that were in the truck. Thank You!

Additional Charge for the rental car and where is the receipt

I do not understand the additional charge that I received after I turned in my rental car in. I filled the car with gas and was with in the time allowed. Then 10 days later I get an additional charge on my credit card. I have also tried to call the 1 80* 777 **** number listed on the original receipt and that number goes to some vacation give away and wasted more of my time. I just need an invoice and reason for the charge and seems almost impossible to retrieve. Also tried the Advantage receipt generator. All the did was time out, no matter what information I put in the inquirer. It seems as if Advantage can do as they feel when given the authority to charge for rental cars.

Invoice for toll electronic toll services

I rented a car from LGA airport (LGA71682)

I received an invoice for 442.40.

The invoice indicates that this is from AEZ Rent a Car. The phone number associated with this location (in Roslyn Heights NY) is the phone number for the Highway Toll Administration.

The Highway Toll Administration advises that I opted out of some kind of toll program that Advantage offered.

I was not advised that I would be charged a fee for every time I passed through a toll.

I was advised by the highway administration that when I opted out of this "program" I agreed to pay a $25.00 fee every time I passed through a toll....this does not include the tolls I paid in cash. I passed through 16 tolls according to the Highway Administration.

The Highway Administration advised me to call Advantage at the location that I rented the car - Advantage Rent a Car in Jackson Heights, NY - LGA airport location. They DO NOT ANSWER the number I was given by the Highway Toll Administration. 718 424 ****

Further, the Advantage website indicates the very same number as the Highway Administration - 800 777 **** - the main office for Advantage Rent a Car located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

As I was not advised of the toll fees - I am disputing the charges.

This fee was not explained to me at all. I would obviously never had agreed to opt out of the "toll program" had I known that I would be charged $25.00 every time I went through a toll.

I believe that this is false representation.
