Advantage Rent A Car - Refund
I was lied to at the front desk about a $100 toll fee that I did not need. Customer service rep told me I would be refunded immediately. When I did see the funds returned I called back and was basically told that I don’t get my money back until after I return the vehicle. I think it’s awful for a company to charge someone a fee they did not authorize and then refuse to refund. I will never do service with this company again. The rep also referred to me as a “pissy customer”. I also told the rep that the car is making strange noises (like break pads wearing down) and she said that’s fine. Not only do you not care about my refund but you also don’t care about the safety of your customers in the vehicle.

I ordered through Travelocity and was quoted 133.49. We declined insurance online AND at the counter..GUESS WHAT??They added it anyway. It was 2 days before we noticed it on our bank statement so my husband went back to the airport and they still charged us for 2 days!! We declined it TWICE!! You can not understand them on the phone and they keep giving me the run around!! So OVER this place!! DO NOT USE!!!

After my recent experience with Advantage - never again.

I made a reservation request for one rental 25 Oct 2019. Due to a family emergency, I was force to cancel and make a new reservation at the same destination. At that time, I was informed that there were three reservations made on 25 Oct. I was also informed that the two extra were "computer glitches" and were not pre-paid. I contacted my credit card company and found that not to be true. After that, it got worse. My experience with Advantage Customer Service is the worst I have ever seen.

After many times of telling the man at the counter that we did not want their insurance because we had our own, and also asking him if it was included in the total he said no mam it is not this is just a deposit. He scrolled the screen so my husband could sign not letting us look at the information, and not thinking we took his word and he lied to us and charged us for the insurance 209.03 which I was told was just a deposit. I called to tell them that I did not want the insurance they told me they could give me 20% off I refused and asked to speak to a manager I was told they would put in a complaint that I should receive and email within 24 to 48 hours if I did not receive it to call them back. I never received the email so I called them back today an explained again what was going on the man on the phone told me that they got an email back from the manager stating that we sign the paper, I told them him that we were told that it was just a deposit that this is ridiculous and asked to speak to a manager I was told to hold the line, a moment later he got back on the phone and told me there was no one available to take my call that he could give me 20% back. I told him no that we had our own insurance and told the guy at the counter that we did not want their insurance, he told me that if we didn't want the insurance that we shouldn't of returned the car, I replied with if we would of did that we would of got arrested he said once we returned the car we agreed to any charges, which is total bs. I told him just to refund the 20% and I would make sure I would tell everyone I know that they are Liars!! So Beware If You Rent From Them. I will go elsewhere. TOTAL BS!!!

Extremely pissed of about rental car. It had damage all over car and *** damage. I payed for a full size and the gave me a small piece of junk: no power. I will never rent for Dis-advantage again.

Told me that I should take "EZ Toll option" even though I said "no". Said that I'd be billed 70 dollars up front and if not used, would be credited back on final bill. I agreed and received that full bill for the week. Was, of course, then told that the charge is applied whether used or not and there's nothing they can credit. They're rep (in Denver) was clearly not new and I'm SURE receives an incentive for that add on. I asked 2 times if I'd be credited unused portion and both times said "100% of what isn't used"... I understand sales people can be deceptive, but corporate's lack of response (customer service) is what's very unacceptable... Never renting with Advantage again. This was the first and last!

Unfortunately I chose to use Priceline and was "awarded" a rental car from Advantage Rent A Car. I flew into Denver and headed to the rental location. First impression was of a company about to go out of business. The building was in disrepair and was worn and dirty inside. The girl at the desk tried to get me to purchase the full tank of fuel at $60.00 even though when I filled it up myself it was only $32.00. I chose not to get ripped off and she proceeded to put me into a work out, dirty Mitsubishi after telling me I was to get a fairly new RAV4. I arrived early and they tacked on an additional $139.00! OUTRAGEOUS! I will NEVER use this company for car rentals again and will let everyone I know that this is a very poor choice for a place to rent a car....Oh, by the way, as I was heading out the guy checking me out at the gate asked me if the tank was full and I told him that it was only half full and he said well just bring it back half full. You think that they were trying to get me again?! Yeah I thought so too so I brought it back FULL. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I was charged 200$ extra because they said I did not bring the tank full! Of course they are lying. We fueled it up at the gas station right next to them. We even asked the guy that took the car from us if everything is ok and if we can leave. He said yes. We complained and they asked for a proof. We called the gas station and asked for the receipt. I sent them the receipt and they said that the receipt is just for half of tank.. Of course it was for half of tank... the other half was already full. They asked for all the receipts for fueling the car while we were on our vacation. Gas stations delete the receipt after one week! That is just ridiculous! They have the worst customer service support. Their employees don't know what they are doing. They just lie to your face so they can get more money out of you. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMMEND them even to my worst enemy!!!

Ridiculously long line

We arrived on a flight from the west coast to Logan Airport on Sept. 7 with a reservation from Priceline for an Advantage Rent A Car. It was well after midnight and the line at Advantage was extremely long, with one woman processing customers. We determined the wait would be more than an hour, so we abandoned Advantage and were able to rent an Avis car within a few minutes to make our long trip from Boston. The long line was completely unacceptable, and now I"m trying to get my money back from Priceline, which will not budge and refund me. Terrible customer experience, both from Priceline and from Advantage.

The line was forever, when I expressed my disappointment to the man he said I was hostile and he wouldn’t rent a car to me. I demanded a manager and she was as bad and asked for my credit card as with my name being long my first name was an initial so she said she would t talk emy card. She spoke loud and told me to get out of here . She was a disgusting person and as I have rented from them ma y times before those two individuals completely stopped me from ever again doing so. Rude and Ignorant at all service levels.

DISASTER

Rude agents when picking up car, busy eating & talking with each other to take time to help us standing in line. Told us they don't open till 4:30am, so changed our return flight. When we returned car at 5:20am, they still weren't open. Due to stress of leaving car & finding ride to airport, we left handicap parking placard in car. Filed report a couple hour later. Tried to find out if they were returning placard to us for 7 days. Never could talk to anyone. On day 8, finally spoke to Lost & Found agent who said local agent at return location had deleted our claim. Tried to talk to someone for final help, got someone in Guatemala who spoke limited English, refused to transfer us to supervisor, & could not understand us at all.

I just contacted costumer service with advantage and the person who answered was very rude. Her tone of voice was condescending and she wasn't helpful at all. She barely spoke any good English and she had an accent that made it difficult for me to understand what she is saying. Overall, not good costumer service.

Return of Deposit

I would appreciate some information about the return of my deposit. The rental record # is: ATL-278456 The car was returned on 6-26-2019. When getting the vehicle there was the charge of $ 184.06 plus a $299.60 deposit, which included $99 for an additional driver. This charge for the extra driver was charged separately to my credit card. I am looking for the deposit of $299.60. Since it have been a month since the car was returned I think it should have been returned to me by now, since your agreement says refunds are made within 21 days. Please let me know the status. My calls with Advantage were "dropped" on many occasions when I was trying to resolve a false charging issue with them. I suspect that they just hang up instead of dealing with the problems. I was "dropped" on at least 4 occasions.
