Beware and read the fine print!

I rented 2 cars on Priceline.com to be picked up at Orlando airport. The confirmed Priceline cost was $185.47 (including tax) due on each vehicle at pick-up. At pick-up, we opted for the E-Z toll pass on both vehicles, & told the agent we did Not want the insurance. She said "sign here". She asked if we wanted to add an additional driver, but did not inform that there would be an additional charge, so we said yes. You're in a hurry, you tell the agent what you need and don't need and you're instructed to initial on a small screen. We trusted the agent to carry out our instructions, and didn't read the small print on the tiny screen, grabbed the keys and left. When we received the credit card bill, the charge was $495.99 for EACH car! Calls to customer service with our complaints only yielded a $60 credit! BEWARE!

Insurance added to my reservation even after I said I didn't want it.

I spent 1 hour in line to get my car at Orlando (MCO). The attendant was very polite and apologize for the waiting. Service was good until she add an extra insurance that I expressly said I didn't want. I said to her that I already had insurance from my car and I also bought collision coverage from the website I used to make the reservation. I only noticed that she included it after return the car and check my credit card statement. Customer Service sent me the contract that i signed agreeing with the insurance. I feel they cheated and I was misled to sign something that I said I didn't want. Terrible experience. I hope they use my money very wisely, because it will be the last they will see.

Awful experience and disappointment

When picking up my rental vehicle which i booked over a month in advance for a total of a month to visit and help assist with the care of my widow 83 year old mother. The agent at your counter informed me that I had to purchase a toll pass at ten dollars a day otherwise I would be fined by the state of Florida for not having such pass. I have been traveling to this state within the past few months which made me believe that this statement was false. He told me that this law just went in affect two days ago. He continued to inform me that the toll booths no longer took cash. He stated that he could not do anything about this situation but he was willing to upgrade a vehicle for me. I found this to be very strange and took my business to Dollar rental. The agent at dollar rental informed me that your employee was wrong and not truthful. Upon driving to my mothers home on the parkway I was able to pay all TOLLS in cash. Total amount of tolls was under ten dollars. This inconvenience me financially and took away valuable time that I could have spent with my mother.

Bad Customer service call experience

There is a girl or woman, I cannot tell, I didn’t get her name correctly. After I tell her that the renter can’t speak with her because he has already back to China and cannot speak English, and she told me that I cannot assist you unless he is on the phone! I know everything about the renter and he is my father, how could I just have no right to know what’s wrong with our reservation? The girl’s attitude is so bad and she dropped my phone in the end! So it just means if I don’t have my father by my side I just don’t have the right to reach the costumer service? And I am not the costumer?? I just I am not OK with her attitude and the way she solve problems!! In the end I “pretend” to be my father just want to show her that I cannot get father on the phone! If I really want to pretend I won’t even use my own voice! She is the worst I have met with any costumer service from any company!! I don’t even want to rent another car from advantage in the future because of this awful experience!

I was charged for taxes 3 weeks after i returned the rental car. Advantage told me it was the 3rd parties fault and I needed to contact them. She was not helpful and did not give me their number or explain why advantage waited 3 weeks to charge me this amount I did not agree to when I picked up the car.

Accident 4/11/2019, Dallas Texas.

Mr. Kheyraddini Behnam Mousavi ran into my truck hitting my right panel doing some damage and damage to my right wheel. No one was hurt and I did call police. Since no one was hurt they asked to just change information which we did. Mr. Mousavi was very apologetic and sorry it happen. I need the service of my pick-up for which I drive daily.

VERY BAD

when we arrived we waited 1.5 hours for the bus. Then i was asked about paying for the tolls and i told them we would pay them ourselves. Which i did!!!! Then i receive a charge of $85.00 for tolls!!!!! when i called to inquire they told me since i didn't take the toll prepay offer, i was charged per day!!! i paid the tolls!!! why am i being charged!!! and i will NOT be using advantage again!!!!!

June 2019 rented a SUV , was suppose to be upgraded to a larger SUV with Navigation at no charge. They charged an extra $94.00 for the week for the upgrade that the rental agent said was free. The SUV was full of hail damage, dirty and 2 days into the rental the windshield cracked while sitting in a parking lot all day. Customer service is a joke. They are no help, run you around in circles. Please never rent form them, they lure you in with cheap rates and you end up with a bill twice as much as any other decent car rental company would charge.

I rented a car from the Advantage Denver airport location on May 4th 2019. The clerk behind the desk told me to bring back the car without filling the tank up with gas because they charged less then the gas station down the street so I initialed the FPO thinking that I would be charged for the gas I used instead I was charged $54 for a full tank of gas even though I only used 1/4 tank. I think this is a very deceptive practice so I called and complained and was told that someone would call me back; after two weeks nobody has called me back. I called back today and was told there would be no refund for the $54 FPO charge. I wanted to let you know that I will never rent from your company again and neither will the other 5 drivers in my family.

JAX location closed, yet refused refund

I placed a pre-paid reservation in early January 2019 for pickup in late March. We received a confirmation email on the day before our scheduled pickup the next day. Instructions said "We are located 1/2 mile west of I-95 next door to the Quality Inn Hotel...". When we arrived, we were told that your Jacksonville location had closed on February 15th - over 1 month earlier. We spent the next several hours of our vacation being told by Advantage Customer Service to go to another rental car company, who was supposed to have "taken" these reservations. That company did indeed have our information, however did not have any payment for the rental from Advantage. When we called Advantage Customer Service for a refund, they refused to give one to us saying that it was too late (after scheduled pickup) to cancel the reservation and we would not receive a refund. I called and spoke to another agent who also refused to give us the refund. Horrible experience - I am still trying to get my money back. Dishonesty and swindling appears to be pervasive throughout this company. They even had the audacity to block my dispute of the charge with my credit card company "The customer did not cancel reservation and has forfeit the full prepaid amount." Steer clear of Advantage!!

HORRIBLE Customer Service CENTER CALL in Foreign Nation

It is very important for companies to meet and address the needs of their customers. With this being said, I called the 180******** number and was sent to a call center in a another country with a person with a very thick dialect I could barely understand.

Why is Advantage Car Rental with their corporate headquarters in Florida having a call center in a foreign country? I feel betrayed by an "American based" company allowing non-AMERICAN people to run a call center just so you can save money and not hire or give jobs to AMERICANS within your State that has a high unemployment rates. The employee #640713 (according to the rep) refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor and said he could answer all my concerns. When is it that a customer is denied to speak with a customer service manager/supervisor?

I asked him over 7 times and was still refused and then hung up on within that 14 min call where I never spoke to a supervisor or manager. Are these call centers/workers given perks/bonuses when supervisors are not called to solve problems or are managers not available? Unfortunately, I could not record this phone call, but I'm sure your phone records could be found if Advantage records customer service calls! As one of the top 5 largest rental car companies in the U.S.

owned by The Catalyst Capital Group Inc., is this the "NEW NORMAL" for corporations to outsource jobs outside if the USA, but makes over $5 Billion in assets/profits and owns E-Z Rent-A-Car Group Holding, LLC?

What type of customer service standards does Advantage live up too? I'm going to need answers to these concerns.

I will also be posting this review on my social Media to share with the public and warning people to not rent from Advantage.
